Terms and Conditions of Sale
Last updated 28 August 2026
These terms govern every retreat, stay and experience booked with TEMPLATE SARL ("Template", "we", "us") through templateexperiences.com. Placing a booking means you have read and accepted them. Please read the cancellation and insurance sections in particular - they are the ones that matter most if your plans change.

2. What we sell
We host small-group retreats and tailor-made experiences in Morocco, built around surf, food, movement and hospitality. A retreat combines accommodation, meals, guided activities and hosting for a fixed group of dates. Our house in Ouassane takes eight guests at a time, in five bedrooms each with its own bathroom.
The exact content of each retreat - programme, meals, activities, what is included and what is not - is described on that retreat's page. Those descriptions form part of these terms for the retreat you book.
3. Booking and formation of the contract
Submitting the booking form on the site is a request, not a confirmed reservation. We review every request personally, check availability and reply to you by email.
The contract is formed only when we confirm your booking in writing and your deposit has been received. Until then, no place is held and the dates remain open to others. If we cannot accept your request, nothing is charged.
You must be at least 18 years old to book. If you book for other guests, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on their behalf and you remain responsible for payment for the whole group.
4. Prices
All prices are quoted and charged in Moroccan dirhams (MAD). Where a euro figure appears next to a price, it is an indication only, converted at a rate we set for display; it is not the amount debited. Your bank applies its own rate and may add its own currency-conversion or international-payment fees, which are yours to bear.
Prices are per person and cover the retreat as described on its page. Unless stated otherwise there, they do not include international flights, travel insurance, airport transfers, meals taken outside the programme, optional treatments, or personal expenses.
A private room, when available, is charged as a supplement per booking and not per guest. Prices may change at any time for future bookings; the price confirmed to you at the time of booking is the price that applies to your stay.
5. Payment
A deposit of 30% of the total secures your place and is payable at the time of booking. The balance is due no later than 30 days before the start of the retreat. You may also pay the full amount up front.
If the balance has not reached us by the due date and you have not agreed other arrangements with us in writing, we may treat the booking as cancelled by you, and the cancellation terms in section 6 apply.
Card payments are processed by Payzone, our payment provider, over a secure connection with 3D Secure authentication. We never see, handle or store your card number: it is entered on Payzone's own payment page. We are told only whether a payment succeeded or failed.
6. If you cancel
Cancellations must be sent to us in writing at hello@templateexperiences.com. They take effect on the day we receive them.
- More than 30 days before the start of the retreat: your deposit is refunded in full.
- 30 days or less before the start of the retreat: the deposit is not refundable, and the balance, if already paid, is not refundable.
- No-show, late arrival or early departure: no refund is due, and unused services cannot be exchanged for a credit.
These deadlines exist because a small house booked for a fixed week cannot be resold at short notice. If something serious happens, tell us early: we will do what we reasonably can, including trying to move you to another date, though we cannot promise it. This is also exactly what travel insurance is for - see section 9.
You may transfer your booking to another person, subject to our agreement and to that person accepting these terms and meeting any requirements for the retreat, such as the surf level for the Signature Longboard week.
7. If we cancel or change something
We may cancel a retreat if too few guests have booked, if a host or key member of the team becomes unavailable, or in a case of force majeure. If we cancel, you choose between a transfer to another date of equivalent value and a full refund of every amount you have paid us.
Our liability in that case is limited to those amounts. We do not reimburse flights, visas, insurance or any other arrangement you booked separately, which is another reason to insure your trip.
Retreats happen in the open air and on the ocean. We may adapt the programme - change surf spots, reorder or replace an activity, adjust the excursion - when swell, weather, safety or local circumstances require it. We aim to keep the overall character and value of the week; such adaptations do not entitle you to a refund.
8. Your responsibilities during the stay
- Travel documents: a valid passport, and any visa required for Morocco, are your responsibility. We cannot refund a booking you cannot attend for want of documents.
- Health and fitness: you confirm you are in a condition to take part in the activities you have booked. Tell us when you book of any medical condition, injury, allergy or dietary requirement that affects your participation or your meals.
- Surf level: some retreats state a minimum level. Booking one below the stated level puts you and the group at risk, and we may have to limit your participation in the water without a refund.
- Conduct: we host eight people in a shared home. We may end the stay, without refund, of anyone whose behaviour endangers others or makes the stay unreasonable for the rest of the group.
- Property: you are responsible for damage you cause to the house or its equipment beyond normal use.
9. Insurance
Travel insurance is not included and we strongly recommend it. It should cover cancellation, medical costs and repatriation, and it should cover surfing and the other activities in your programme - some policies exclude water sports, so check that specifically.
We hold the insurance required for our own activity. It does not cover your personal risks, your belongings or your cancellation.
10. Risk you accept by taking part
Surfing, swimming, yoga, ice baths and travel in a natural coastal environment carry inherent risks that no amount of supervision removes. Waves, currents, marine life, weather and the equipment itself can cause injury.
By booking you acknowledge those risks and accept them. You agree to follow the instructions of our coaches and hosts, to stay within the limits they set in the water, and not to take part in an activity you have been advised against. Participation in optional activities, the ice bath included, is always your own choice.
11. Photography and video
Filming and photography are part of some of our retreats, and we also document our weeks for our own website and social media. If you would rather not appear in images we publish, tell us at the start of the stay and we will respect it; you can also ask us afterwards to remove an image of you.
Images and footage we produce remain ours. Photographs and videos we give you of your own sessions are for your personal use; commercial use requires our written agreement.
12. Liability
We are liable for the proper performance of the services we have undertaken to provide. We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control, for the acts of independent third parties such as airlines or transfer providers you booked yourself, or for loss or damage to personal belongings.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for any other liability that the law does not allow us to exclude.
13. Right of withdrawal
The statutory cooling-off period for distance selling does not apply to accommodation, transport, catering and leisure services supplied on a specific date or for a specific period. Retreats fall into that category under both Moroccan law (Law 31-08, consumer protection) and EU law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16), so there is no 14-day or 7-day withdrawal right on a retreat booking.
The cancellation terms in section 6 apply instead, and they are contractual, not statutory.
14. Complaints
If something is wrong during your stay, tell us on the spot: almost everything can be put right while you are still here. If a problem remains unresolved, write to us at hello@templateexperiences.com within 30 days of the end of the retreat, describing what happened. We answer every complaint personally.
15. Personal data
The data you give us when booking is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Moroccan law. We will always try to settle a dispute amicably first.
Failing agreement, the courts having jurisdiction at our registered office are competent. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of your country of residence, nor of your right to bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
